Merida Silex 4000
This premium carbon-framed bike is ready for any adventure, thanks to a durable Shimano GRX drivetrain that offers climb-climbing ability and a new mountain bike-inspired geometry.
The 2024 Taipei Cycle d&i Award-winning SILEX 4000 is the entry point to our carbon frameset, combining our lightweight frame with a high-end Shimano GRX componentry with a double chainset. Rugged, tubeless-ready Maxxis Rambler tyres and our mountain bike-inspired geometry provide exceptional trail grip, while quality MERIDA components deliver uncompromising performance. The SILEX turns every ride into an adventure, whether you’re on a multi-day bikepacking trip or just a fun commute. With numerous test wins, press accolades, industry awards and even a world championship title, our SILEX takes gravel bike off-road capability to new heights, thanks to a slacker head angle and increased tyre clearance for up to 700x45mm tyres, or even 42mm with mudguards. We've combined that confident, mountain bike-inspired handling with all-terrain versatility, making it totally stable when loaded, but still fast and fun when you decide to push. With carbon and aluminum frame options, there's a SILEX to suit every budget, but they all share the many attachment points for bags, water bottles, accessories and other features that make this gravel bike so versatile. We've added our WIRE PORT cable routing system for a cleaner look and fewer exposed cables, and the carbon fork used on all models now has more cargo mounts and internal hub dynamo routing. With the option to run 1x or 2x drivetrains, you can choose the gear ratio that best suits your personal preference, opening up a world of possibilities for you and your SILEX.

Technologies
X-TAPER Headtube
The head tube X-Tapered provides clearance for a tapered fork. Tapered forks offer exceptional stiffness and precision, and provide confidence-inspiring steering.
Internal cable routing
Cables are routed through the frame, entering and exiting through smooth ports. The bike looks clean, while cables are protected from moisture and dirt.
DI2 READY
Bikes/frames with the "Di2 Ready" symbol are ready for Di2 technology with the battery mounted in the seat post or inside the fork.
Nano Matrix Carbon
To protect the integrity of carbon frames, the fibres are bonded together with an epoxy resin with added nanoparticles, increasing impact resistance by up to 40%.
AWS
When creating the individual carbon elements, an inflatable bladder is used to ensure there are no wrinkles inside the tube as they can add weight and create weakness. This results in a lighter, stiffer and stronger frame.
F-Mount
‘Bikes equipped with the F-Mount have integrated mudguard mounts (some bikes require model-specific mudguards), making installation quick and easy.
Disc Cooler
A forged aluminum component under the front and/or rear caliper that allows heat to dissipate through CNC-machined cooling fins. Tests show that temperatures are reduced by approximately 35% and cooling times are shortened, optimizing brake performance.
Internal Clamp
Designing WorldTour bikes is similar to Formula 1: seemingly insignificant details can save fractions of a second. The integrated seatpost clamp minimizes turbulence on the top tube.
Removable F-Mount
A removable dropper bridge can be fitted for a neater and more secure mounting of rear mudguards, but removed for greater mud clearance and a cleaner look.
Wire Port
MERIDA has designed covers that allow all control cables to enter the frame through the headset, creating a clean, uncluttered look, without making structural changes to the frame. Depending on the model, the cables are either routed completely internally (including the bar and stem) or semi-integrated where the cables enter the frame under the stem.
